You thought you could escape the China posts now that we’re in the States didn’t you? Well it just so happens I have one more.
So a few days before we left myself, Spencer, and Jacob took Mom to this little hole in the wall type place that we had discovered just this last week for lunch.
It’s a little bookstore/coffee shop and it’s really cute. When you see it from the outside you’d never think it could be, but once you walk in it’s a different story.
There’s a little shop when you walk in, and a counter you order at. We left Jacob to order for us and went upstairs were the ceiling has books and plants hanging down, none of the furniture matches (but in a fun way) and there’s little fountains here and there that just make it sound and feel oh so cozy. Bookshelves are everywhere and a lot of them are in english which was cool.
Their pizzas are AMAZING and just about as close as you can get to normal pizza. Spencer basically lives off their coffee and says it’s just about the best coffee he’s had. I’ll also say their smoothie/juice drinks are lovely.
It was so much fun to just hang out and chill. We took our time eating and drinking, laughing at stupid jokes and enjoying it. They probably think we’ve got a problem since we’d literally gone four times in one week but hey, it’s good! Plus their variety of twirly straws makes me really happy.
As this is “on the other side of town” even after getting off the Light Rail there’s a few bridges to cross and let’s just say I’ve never walked up so many stairs in my entire existence. Six flights up to our apartment, and then there’s literally stairs just everywhere. But it did make for some cool pictures I will admit, even Jacob stopped to take a few.
Overall it was just such a nice break and a fun place to just chill, eat good food, and hang out. I can safely say we’ll be coming back to this place quite a lot upon our return, and it’s definitely something to look forward to.
