AUTUMN IS UPON US!
I’m well aware that the first “official” day of Autumn is September 22nd.
I’m also aware that today is only September 2nd.
TWENTY MORE DAYS!
I get unnaturally excited about this time of year. I look forward to it all year, and then once we hit September I stop attempting to hide my excitement, and embrace it.
Autumnal candles have been purchased, I’ve managed to slip a sweater into my “summer clothes”, and I’ve had my first cup of Spiced Chai Tea.
Needless to say I’m ready.
I can’t help it. I just love the colder months, getting to bundle up in floppy sweaters, socks, and blankets. Pumpkin Spice Chai’s make their annual appearance, as do all the baked goods. Cookies, breads, cakes, etc.
Then right after Autumn and Halloween, we move straight onto Christmas! I mean yes, Thanksgiving is in the mix as well, but if I’m being honest I start on the Christmas music September 1st, so by November all I can think of is Christmas. Sorry Thanksgiving.
It’s funny because 2017 feels like it’s been here for years and years, but at the same time it feels like I blinked and the year is already over. I’m 100% done with this heat and all the sunny days (which are lovely, just ridiculously warm) and am getting my hopes up every time the sun pops behind a cloud.
For those of you who are not as … enthusiastic as I am, I hope the images below will fix that. I can’t look at any of them without feeling oh so cozy, and wishing it was cool enough to fully embrace my favorite time of year.
Happy Beginning of Autumn!
